BodyMovin' Studio - Press and Media

San Clemente Partner Yoga Is Relaxing For The Body And Mind San Clemente Partner Yoga Is Relaxing For The Body And Mind - San Clemente Patch - People often ask me what I do to relax.

"It's hard to say," I tell them, hoping to buy a few seconds to come up with hobbies or something. I drive to baseball practice--does that count as a hobby? I relax when the kids get out of the car.

One morning, while visiting my home away from home, the awesome Peet's in Talega, I spied, on the community bulletin board, a flyer that said "Bodymovin' Mommy and Me Yoga Classes." Fun and affordable. After speaking with the owner and checking it out - very Zen in there - I decided to sign us up.

Our first class was a mini-disaster. I haven't touched my toes in about six years. Chloe tried to put her big toe in my ear during Savasana. Even so, Tess, our amazing Yoga instructor was patient and really understanding. Tess is from Australia and has a perfect yoga "voice," so when our eyes were closed it felt like we were doing yoga with Olivia Newton-John.

The hardest part for me was the "clearing my mind" part. It took five classes to finally get it to rest for a few minutes. Chloe never really got into Savasana (my favorite part), but she finally left my ear..."  read more..

Yoga, dance, wellness studio gets your body movin' Yoga, dance, wellness studio gets your body movin' - Orange County Register - Amid the hills of San Clemente's Talega area lies BodyMovin' Yoga, Dance and Wellness Studio.

Founded in December by Melanie Larinde of San Clemente, BodyMovin', 831 Via Suerte, offers classes taught by certified instructors ranging from Pilates to hip-hop to contemporary dance for ages 6 and up.

"Having a central place - a community, if you will - to be a part of, to find a class that speaks to you and to feel good about yourself when you leave is the foundation behind BodyMovin'," Larinde said. "Beginners are welcomed and encouraged."

Larinde had 20 years' experience as a yoga practitioner before opening BodyMovin'.

"I am passionate about teaching and sharing what I have personally experienced," Larinde said. "I think when people realize that they have control over how they feel and look, they can change their lives tremendously."

BodyMovin' isn't an ordinary yoga studio. In its wellness program, students learn about how the foods they eat affect them as a whole. They also learn about "healing foods" that Larinde says can help make their bodies well. "Those who have taken part in our program have lost weight and kept it off, have experienced feeling pain-free in their joints after years of pain, and have experienced an increase in energy and improved sleep..."  read more..

Yoga, dance, wellness studio gets your body movin' Get your body Movin' - San Clemente Journal - With over 20 years of practicing, teaching, and hosting workshops in yoga, Melanie Larinde always knew she wanted to open her own studio one day. Flipping through a yoga magazine, Melanie came across an article with a photo of a woman practicing yoga in a room filled with shades of calming sea green and warm sun yellow. Looking at the photo, Melanie says, "I knew this is exactly what I wanted my studio to look like."

For years, she held onto the photo for inspiration. When an attempt to open a studio while her kids were still young did not work out, she tucked this photo away into a binder with everything she had collected and knew that one day this binder would turn into her dream. With years in the making, that dream materialized for Melanie in December of 2010 when she opened her yoga, dance and wellness studio, called BodyMovin' in the Talega shopping center.

Upon arriving at BodyMovin', Melanie leads me from the entrance foyer into the yoga practicing part of her studio. She kindly asks me to remove my flip flops, and I can see she already has mats laid out on the sprung bamboo finished wood floors for us to sit on. I instantly regret wearing a short dress to this interview. The calming music serenaded us in the background and the scent of aromatic candles lingered throughout the space. Somehow, I felt calm and energized all at the same time. As I start to ask Melanie how she manifested her 20-year dream, she pulls out the magazine photo of the woman in a yoga pose in the sea green room that she kept throughout the years to inspire her...  read more..
